Firenze, Italia. I had just climbed to the top of the tower next to the Duomo and the sun was not yet ready to set, but low in the sky giving a nice yellow light. As I was walking down, I noticed my shadow falling against some of the stonework. I snapped a couple of shots, I like this one with the dome in the background. I used Adobe Camera Raw to adjust the white balance [Daylight looked better than 'As Shot'], added some contrast and pulled out some detail from the shadows. I set the Recovery to 100 and it really brought back some detail in the shadows that were plugged. I think that the sun is still a little bright on the stonework and maybe I’ll dodge it in Photoshop [as soon as I learn how to do that ;-) ].

  1. Good composure and opposing lighting areas. I like this. I would like to challenge you on your next shadow shot. After getting the right AV, TV and ISO Maybe try to hang the camera by your neck or on a tripod. Take a creative shot of just your shadow without the camera.
